The inside diameter is ½”. It will accept up to 3/8” square spit rod due to the diagonal measurement being greater than 3/8”. If you have a hexagonal or octagonal rod you might be able to go a little over 3/8”

This jumbo bushing accepts up to 3/8" square rod. As long as you clamp it down on a flat side of a hex, it should still work for you.

For a 5/16" rod, you would want to use the spit rod SKU SR5 or SR8
