Porcelain is a coating. Porcelain coated heat plated (or flavorizer bars in this case) are mild steel coated in porcelain. Eventually, the porcelain will crack and break off the plates. The exposed mild steel will rust as it comes into contact with oxygen and moisture. Stainless steel has no coating. It is stainless throughout. After the high heat of many cookouts, stainless steel will discolor and eventually deteriorate as well, but we generally expect stainless steel product to outlast porcelain coated steel in gas grills. I'm not sure what you mean by "front-load," but it is made to fit your Weber EP-310.
